We’re Hiring! Join our Seed Sovereignty Programme
Are you based in the southwest of England, passionate about seed sovereignty and looking for a new challenge? We’re recruiting for a Southwest England Coordinator (Maternity Cover) for our Seed Sovereignty UK & Ireland Programme.
The programme is working with actors across the food and seed sector under three overarching objectives:
- More open-pollinated, locally produced seed is available in the UK and Ireland. Increasing the amount of open-pollinated seed produced in the UK and Ireland as well as facilitating clear routes to market for producers and clear avenues to buy for growers.
- Increased knowledge of open-pollinated, locally produced seed and its benefits in the UK and Ireland.
- Increased solidarity with and unified direction for the wider international seed sovereignty movement. Solidifying links to international partners/collaborators, providing a clear position on policy, influencing decision-making around open- pollinated and small-scale seed production nationally and internationally.
The successful candidate will work with our passionate team – based remotely across the UK and Ireland – to collaborate on the overall direction of the Programme, whilst focusing on working locally to support and develop seed production, seed saving training and community seed saving.
As the needs of each region are unique, the coordinators will take an individual approach to their work to best support this development. We’re looking for proactive, collaborative people who are confident working independently.
Now more than ever, it is vital that we rebuild our seed sovereignty and enrich the diversity of our seed grown in the UK and Ireland. We believe that a seed revolution starts with seed – will you join us?
